Digital caricatures in Manchester

I recently bought a new piece of kit, a Samsung tablet, which enables me to cut down all the electronic gizmos I had to carry around with me before when drawing digital caricatures. I was easily able to link the tablet to a 52″ plasma screen (as well as my little printer) which made the process all rather slick. Having the plasma screen linked up to the tablet enables people to easily see what I’m drawing and is great entertainment! I was too busy to get photographs of people holding their caricatures but here are some of the completed pieces.

Your style is one of the two best that I have seen on digital tablets (the other one’s Paul). I’d be interested to know which app you are using. Well done! – Simon.

Well, thank you kindly Simon – praise indeed to be mentioned in the same breath as Mr Baker although I’ve always thought you’re live digital stuff’s pretty impressive!! I’ve always struggled with the android apps such as to be found on most tablets/phones etc and so I went out and bought (on George Williams’ recommendation) the Windows7 based Samsung Slate. This means that I can run Corel Painter which I have been using since wayback (I started with version 6 and it’s now up to 12). I use the program for all my studio work and so I feel totally at home with it. That doesn’t mean to say that I’m really ever happy with my digital caricatures as I find it so slow for live work.
