Party Caricatures

Deciding what party entertainment to book for your party? Look no further than me as I have been entertaining at parties for over 17 years and have had many, many delighted guests who have greatly admired my work.

Hiring an on the spot caricaturist for your party creates a unique, memorable experience for your guests, filling the room with laughter as I move effortlessly between them, drawing couples or individuals to the delight of an ever-growing crowd! I am an expert at putting everyone at their ease with my experience and professional approach.

Packages include:

  • High-quality, personalised drawings which guests can take home as treasured mementos of your party;
  • Unlimited caricatures within the allocated time slot although my average is between 12 – 15 caricatures per hour.
  • Fun for everyone! Party Caricaturing is a spectator sport, and sometimes the people who aren’t being drawn have the most fun!

Testimonials

“John will be used in the near future..”

“With regards to John, he was once again a big hit and a joy to work with. He amazed every suspect to his drawing talent and didn’t seem at all flustered when he was pulled into different rooms to do special requests. Please note though John will be used in the near future!

West End Studios

“Everyone thought you were great….”

Thank you so much for travelling down here and for all your great work on Saturday night – EVERYONE thought you were great. Hugh will be giving the original now to his friends and has scanned them for future reference. Many people took their pictures and I guess are adorning their office or bedroom walls! I hope you had a good night too!

“We will recommend you to anyone without fail…”

Just to say THANK YOU very much, we all appreciated your efforts tremendously, we knew you would be busy, that was an understatement, the speed you work at, is truly amazing to watch. We are not sure how many you did, but after 4 hours at that pace you must have been worn out. You have made a lot of people happy with your work, and considering the speed you were working the accuracy of peoples features is spot on including the exaggerated features. So thanks again, we WILL recommend you to anyone without fail, you helped to make a good day very memorable.

“Thanks for a great… entertainment which helped the evening to be a real success!”

John was brilliant and caught so many people absolutely perfectly throughout the evening, in caricatures which we will use to great effect amongst the staff!! I was grateful for him travelling such a long way to get to us and hope he got home ok after the event. Again, I didn’t get to speak to him when he left, but would be very pleased if you could pass on my thanks for a great form of entertainment which helped the evening to be a real success!

FAQ’s

With nearly 20 years’ of experience caricaturing at parties, I have a pretty good idea of what you might want to know before making a booking. Below I share some of the most frequently asked questions, along with my answers, to help you decide if I’m right for your party.

1) How do you work at parties?

I draw the caricatures using black ink with various grey washes (and sometimes a splash of colour) on good quality A4 card which I present this to the guest in a plastic folder which hopefully keeps the artwork clean! I simply mingle with your guests (using a simple clipboard to hold the card I draw on) and I draw while I chat to them. Something that just happens during parties is that couples ask to be drawn together which I can achieve on an A4 sheet!

2) When is the best time to have you at our party?

There are a number of options you need to consider. Probably the most frequently suggested time is during the pre-dinner drinks. This period works very well as it’s a great opportunity for me to introduce myself and entertain the guests by drawing them and I can then carry on during the meal. I can also start work at the end of the meal and into the evening.

Please note that I usually leave guests alone during the main course (well, this IS the highlight of the meal) and so this usually means I can’t draw for at least 20 minutes. I also cannot work during speeches as everyone is obviously concentrating on the speakers.

3) How many caricatures can you produce?

This is always a difficult one to answer as all these occasions are so different. I would like to point out that drawing guests when they are eating ALWAYS slows me down but on average I produce between 12 – 15 caricatures an hour.
